It’s been weeks since I’ve wanted to talk to you about Batch. And last night, I went back for the 6th or 7th time in just a few weeks, and joy of joys, they had just inaugurated their new menu. And like the previous one, everything was a favorite.
We did try to pick a favorite – maybe the beef tartare with caramelized onions (€16) or the Hokkaido pumpkin with tahini and zhoug (€14). Although, the confit trout with white butter (€19) was amazing too, and the stuffed cabbage with chestnuts and Parmesan emulsion (€18) was a delight.
There you go, I told you.
This time I did it in dry January mode. And it worked out just as well as they happen to have the basil smash kombucha from Rish I love. But otherwise, I can tell you with eyes closed that the Negroni is spot on and the Amaretto Sour is a true celebration. We finished with the crispy chocolate hazelnut chou (€10), because we weren’t going to stop on such a good note.
At lunch, two options of salads and mind-blowing focaccia. In the morning and afternoon, Batch is also open as a café, for breakfast, brunch, and other afternoon delights.
As their tagline says, here, it’s from matinée to soirée.
And to top it off, the place is just gorgeous, from the glass bricks behind the bar to the suspended mirror in the restroom, not to mention the burgundy lacquered panels and the large folded steel leaf table. Just beautiful.
And one last bonus: this same large table is available for bookings, and it’s perfect for groups.
In short, a 100% favorite spot. And Kombucha or not, it didn’t stop us from closing, as always.
